Nothing Ever Changes On New Year's Day
And....BLAM! Here we are January 1st 2019. The year that a group of android Replicants jumped a shuttle off world, killed the crew and passengers and tried to infiltrate the Tyrell Corporation...

New Year, Same Me.
Which is both a blessing and curse I suppose. A blessing because I've got all kinds of awesome resources to put to use. A curse because my cultural references (see above) mean I'm old. (Old-ish.)
And there's also my inertia. I've been hacking away since 9am, and a giant thermos of coffee at my "Battle Plan." The Ready, Fire, Aim, principle of having to wing it today without a 100% certain plan in effect for Day 1.
So far today, aside from the usual banging about trying to work out the best path forward, I've managed to do some Tarot readings for the year ahead, (Things are murky, but potentially not hopeless), shuffle around some more sigils that are in need of launching, arrange my deck chairs on the Titanic...I mean, arrange my occult bric'o'brac in preparation for some feedings, searched all over the apartment for my damn tarot cards, searched all over the apartment for any of the damned tarot cards from any of the decks I own, managed to be slightly distracted by social media-SocMed, do a small healing spell for a friend, and the barest, barest minimum of energy work.
Aside from doing the readings, not much of which advances my cause or helps me gain traction over my situation. The planning phase is going especially roughly for today.
I had so many other grand plans for the day. Taking full responsibility for my own situation, accurately understanding where I am at and what's necessary to get me to where I need to be and from there where I want to be has been a little humbling today. 365 days of doing full offerings and devotions to 10 Tantric deities, several other patron gods and spirits and full conjuration of Archangels, might not begin today.
I can still move forward.
Last night, and I am sure just as soon as I hit "publish" on this post I was of the complete conviction that I should delete this blog as a distraction. It will be obvious that I am a complete beginner to blogging, lacking probably even the rudiments of what it takes to get noticed on the web in this our year of the Blade Runner. I will persist. A post a day. I am probably loathe to do any magic to bolster this blog in and of itself. I've got 99 other problems.
A little bit of background on what's inspired this blog: On one of the lists associated with Jason Miller's Strategic Sorcery on of the students made a post talking about doing magical work for a relative who was in very dire straights. Over the course of about a year this student managed to completely turn things around for the relative, and offered a kind of framework for that. This amounted to the practical application of magical efforts to the specific situation of the relative. The post inspired me at the time and has continued to inspire me to take a similar course of action for my own situation. Mr.Miller's book The Elements of Spellcrafting also provide an excellent framework to work from.
To boil down the formula in my own words:
1-Divine the situation. Get the intelligence to guide your efforts. In my case, those damn tarot cards and some pendulum dowsing.
2-Plan your strategy.
3-Take action, magically and materially.
4-Reassess based on results.
5-Repeat 1-4
Based on what I've got going on in my life, a bit of Road Opening work, and bit of Uncrossing work are in order. I've got tools from Hoodoo, and Psionics, and Mr.Miller, plenty of ways to get there.
